This document describes how Radiant Magazine creates, edits, and publishes the content you read here. It exists because readers deserve to know where the words come from and who's responsible for them.
Our Mission
Radiant Magazine publishes honest, carefully researched writing for young Catholic women on wellness, culture, and faith. We are not a ministry. We are not a Catholic lifestyle brand. We are a small editorial team that takes both faith and journalism seriously, and we try to write the way actual women talk to each other — unguarded, specific, and occasionally funny.
Who Writes Here
Every article on Radiant is written by a named human author with relevant lived experience and expertise. Our primary contributor is Claire Donovan, whose byline appears on every piece until we expand our contributor roster. You can verify Claire's work on LinkedIn and Medium.
How We Use AI
We use AI tools to help with research, fact-checking, and structural editing. We do not publish AI-generated articles. Every article you read here was written by a human author drawing on personal experience, primary sources, and original thinking. When we cite data (like "my screen time dropped 60 percent" or "I tracked my scrolling for three weeks"), those numbers come from the author's actual life, not statistical averages pulled from language models.
Fact-Checking Process
Before publication, every article passes through a three-stage check:
- Source verification. Every claim attributed to a study, person, or organization gets traced to a primary source. If we can't find it, we don't publish it.
- Scripture check. Every Bible verse is verified against the original context. We do not proof-text. When scripture addresses a topic, we try to engage the full passage, not just the fragment that supports our angle.
- Lived-experience check. Personal claims (my panic attack happened in a Trader Joe's parking lot, I tracked my scrolling for three weeks) are factually true. We don't fabricate narrative for effect.
Corrections Policy
If we publish something incorrect, we fix it. Significant corrections are noted at the bottom of the article with the date and what changed. Minor corrections (typos, formatting) are made silently. If you spot an error, email us at [email protected] and we'll look into it within 48 hours.
Our Sources
We prioritize primary sources (the actual study, the actual scripture, the actual book) over secondary coverage (someone else's summary of the study). When we cite a statistic, we link to the original source whenever possible. When we quote an author, we cite the book and edition.
Editorial Independence
Radiant Magazine does not accept paid placements, sponsored posts, or advertiser-directed content. Nothing we recommend has been purchased by a brand. When we suggest a book, podcast, or product, it's because we actually use it. We may use affiliate links (marked clearly) where appropriate, but no brand has ever paid for us to recommend them.
Content We Don't Publish
- Content targeting minors
- Content that promises "guaranteed" spiritual or physical outcomes
- Content that shames women for their choices, bodies, or life paths
- Content that weaponizes scripture against mental health treatment, therapy, or medication
- Content generated entirely by AI
- Content we would not want our daughters to read
Comments & Engagement
We currently moderate all reader correspondence through our email list. We read every message. We reply as we can. We don't host public comments because moderation at scale is beyond our current team size.
Privacy & Data
See our Privacy Policy for details about cookies, analytics, and data handling. In short: we use Google Analytics to understand what resonates. We don't sell your data. We never will.
